PHILADELPHIA: The father of a young football player pulled a gun on his son's coach because he didn't think the boy was getting enough playing time, Philadelphia police said.
Wayne Derkotch, 40, was charged with aggravated assault after getting in a fight with the coach over the amount of time the boy was getting on the field at a game for six- and seven-year-olds on Sunday morning, said police spokesman Officer Raul Malveiro.
"There was a physical altercation about what child should play or not play and then he pulled the gun," Malveiro said.
There were no injuries and Derkotch fled before being arrested after a complaint was made by the coach, whose name was not released, Malveiro said.
Parental behaviour at children's sports events has come under scrutiny from groups such as the Citizenship Through Sports Alliance. The group's study gave parents a D grade for their conduct and involvement at kids' games.
An Internet straw poll of nearly 3000 by the US web-based Centre for Sports Parenting found that 85 per cent of the participants had witnessed parents or coaches becoming verbally abusive during games. Forty percent had seen physical abuse.

1. Wayne Derkotch did not flee, he was put in his truck and told to sit pretty until the police came. When the police came he handed over his gun and was transferred into the police car.
2. Wayne Derkotch did not pull the gun on the coach due to his sons lack of playing time. Wayne Derkotch and Jermaine Wilson got in a screaming match in front of the parents due to Wayne not liking the way Jermaine was coaching. Jermaine asked Wayne to step off of the side lines and walk over to the parking lot so that he could *talk* to him. Jermaine then proceeded to punch the *sh***t. out of him. Two parents pulled the coach off of Mr. Derkotch and this is when he pulled the gun, pointed at Mr. Wilson who then backed off and ran. The gun was then placed away.
3. Wayne Derkotch is a lunatic for carrying a gun at a childrens sporting event. Wayne Derkotch is not an animal who would pull a gun due to lack of playing time.
4. I beleive in freedom of speech, but come on. I read 457 articles and all of them fabricated, made up or simply lied.
5. Why do you even feel the need to call a 6 year old lame? What did he do in all of this? Your just as heartless as the two morons who started this whole mess.

hmm, what could this be. I am pretty good at crosswords and thrashed my sister 5-zip at Scrabble last week (sorry sis), but fuck me with a 6 year old if I know what that word might be.

Anyway, the kid was lame because he took an armed-response dad to a football game AND because he wasn't good enough to be the star player.
