Doctor Who

In another example of how behind the times I am, I have just started watching the new series of Doctor Who. Not the one that began 6 weeks ago but the one that began in 2005 - the first series of the all new Doctor Who with Christopher Ecclestone.

And... it's ace. It takes me back to Saturday evenings in the late 70's hiding behind a cushion while watching because the monsters in Dr Who were so scary.

This time round I am managing to maintain my dignity, although it is only a matter of time before I abase myself over Billy Piper, and it is not until season 2 that the Cybermen will appear to scare the bejesus out of me.

Cracking stuff.

Ha, I used to watch Dr Who from behind the lounge. Those giant maggots and the Cybermen haunted me for years. In Oz a couple of years ago, we had a lot of the entire series replayed in the lead up to the new series with Billie Piper. You are wetting your pants over Billie, I'm in the same boat over David Tennant and my husband was 'pretty keen' on Jo (Katy Manning).

It's funny you say that about the Cybermen - my whole family make a point of joking about it now, and all because when I was a kid my Dad told me that the Cybermen could beat Superman... it terrified me, and has stayed with me into adulthood :)

I had a raging crush on Jo, even at the tender age I then was. Surely a sign of early promise.

Dr Who side-kicks have generally been well worth a sniff, although annoying bitch Peri was Dr Who's 'scrappy-doo' moment.

I have yet to see the lad Tennant - I am insisting (in conversations with myself) that I watch the show in strict sequence. Another 10 episodes of Ecclestone to go and then I can see Tennant in the crimbo spesh.
